Acute / chronic pancreatitis

Acute pancreatitis typically occurs suddenly and is often caused by gallstones or excessive alcohol consumption. Other potential causes include certain medications, infections, high levels of blood triglycerides, trauma, and anatomical abnormalities in the pancreas. Chronic pancreatitis is an ongoing inflammation of the pancreas that leads to irreversible damage over time. It is often caused by heavy, long-term alcohol consumption. Other causes can include genetic factors, certain medical conditions, and recurrent episodes of acute pancreatitis.
It's important to consult a healthcare provider for proper evaluation, diagnosis, and management of pancreatitis. Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for preventing complications and improving the long-term prognosis. Additionally, addressing the underlying causes, such as alcohol consumption, is essential to prevent recurrent episodes of pancreatitis.
